Roundabouts with raised crossings - Pelican Waters

Queensland now recommends raised crossings on all approaches of roundabouts. This  overcomes  pedestrian safety and accessibility issues at roundabouts. Instead of being one of the most difficult places for people to cross, they become some of the safest and easiest. These treatments are an early example. Sidelines Traffic undertook a Safe System Assessment to support this project.

 If we provide for a person using a wheelchair,  a person who cannot see, and a very young, enthusiastic kid Zippeedeeing on a push scooter, we are most likely going to provide for everyone. This is why we always keep in mind the 'All Users' triangle on our projects.
